Radical Landscapes presents work from over 30 leading language artists including Hanna Tuulikki, Richard Skelton,Lawrence Upton, Alec Finlay, Judith Tucker & Harriet Tarlo exploring the continuum between drawn, painted and written mark-making in the construction of landscape aesthetics.

This show is curated by Camilla Nelson, a British language artist and editor of Singing Apple Press. Her work explores human and other-than human intra-action through page-based poetry, installation and performance. Entrance to the show is free and there is a programme of events associated with the show which can be booked via www.theploughartscentre.org.uk including Radical Landscapes Workshop with Camilla Nelson, Sat 23 March 10am-4pm £30

Radical Landscapes is a day-long creative workshop designed to explore language at its limits in relation to the landscape of Torrington common. The work will mostly take place outdoors so please come prepared for all weather. Bring a notebook, something to write with and/or a favourite sketchbook, everything else will be provided. All participants are warmly invited to stay on for the chance to perform their own work in the gallery as part of An Evening of Radical Landscape Poetry 5-7pm, (£5) where Camilla Nelson will launch her new book A Yarn Er Narrative (Contraband) – live radical landscape performances from exhibiting language artists.
Words & Wildflowers Workshop; An Edible Odyssey with Adam Reeve

Join local wild food gatherer Adam Reeve on a journey through Torrington Commons and along the banks of the River Torridge in search of wild edibles and toxins to avoid; the walk will also feature a poem linked to each plant giving insight into humankind’s relationship with wild flora over the ages. The walk will begin at 1pm from the Plough and will last between 2 – 3 hours, ending at the South Street Car Park. Sturdy boots, clothes suitable for the local forecast and reasonable fitness are recommended.
