Due to the current situation in Ukraine with a great number of refugees fleeing the country, WonderZoo will be staging a fundraiser event on Saturday 26th March for the victims of the crisis.

It will be free to attend, and held at Union Corner, Union Street, from 4pm-10:30pm.

There will be 27 acts (music, spoken word, comedy and theatre) who have kindly agreed to give their time and talent to support the event, Eastern European stalls selling items to raise money, and support from many local organisations including Nudge Community Builders, Stonehouse Action, Omnium Radio, Plymouth and Devon Racial Equality Council, Pride in Plymouth and Street Factory.

WonderZoo hopes the event will promote peace, love and unity in Plymouth and beyond, giving people the chance to seek solace in community, art and culture during a time of distress and sadness.

Talented acts performing at the gig will include bands such as The Ornaments, Auntie Pus, Kill the Gun and Echo Chamber; comedians Ems Coombes and Robin Marzipan; theatre group Friends of the Apocalypse; musical acts, Strange Billy, Michelle Dilling, Jonathan Spurling; and an eclectic mix of poets, including Sam Blackledge, Harula Ladd, Ceri Baker and Jen Wallis and tons more.

The whole event will be broadcast online by Omnium Radio. Also a short film of the event be made by The Hundred Hands film company

Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the Peace Event, join in, have fun and give a donation if they wish.
