Flash fiction – also known as micro fiction, short, short fiction, the smokelong, the drabble and sudden fiction – is a super short form for writers who love intensity!

In this REAL LIFE face-to-face workshop @hoursspace in Bristol on Wed 27th Oct 7-9pm Alison Powell, co-editor of the 2018 National Flash Fiction Day anthology and director of WriteClub, will share with you some of the flash fictions that she admires, talk about her personal process for creating new work and help you to find the words to get your own flash fiction into shape. She’ll also suggest places where you can submit your finished flash AND send you away with a goody bag of WriteClub swag.

Alison’s flash fictions have been published in various anthologies and magazines and listed in prizes including the Bath Flash Fiction Award, TSS award and Reflex fiction award. She co-edited the 2018 National Flash Fiction Day anthology and wrote a series of connected flash pieces in response to her residency at Alton Towers with @liminalresident a few years back.

Whether you’re new to the form and curious, or whether you’ve written flash in the past and want some fresh inspiration, come and join WriteClub for an exciting two hours of diving into the world of flash fiction. Spaces limited. Booking essential.
