New Trustees and co-Chairs for Literature Works
Following widespread advertising and recruitment, we are delighted to welcome literary agent Salma Begum and Mary Morris of the creative writing charity Arvon to the Literature Works Trustee Board. They each bring outstanding experience and broad networks.
Suresh Ariaratnam, who sits already on the Literature Works Board, assumes the role of co-Chair alongside the existing Chair of Literature Works, Pippa Warin, who said today:
“Co-chairing is a great opportunity to bring a wider range of skills, experience and diversity to the organisation as a whole, sharing responsibility, supporting collaborative ways of working and helping with succession planning. It’s gaining interest in terms of innovative governance and co-leadership models and we look forward to sharing our experiences with the newly forming Arts Council England Chairs’ network.”
Suresh Ariaratnam said:
“Co-chairing represents an excellent opportunity for organisations to rethink traditional power structures and bring about meaningful change – within and beyond the creative economy. Serving alongside Pippa Warin as co-Chair, and with our fellow Trustees and colleagues, I look forward to supporting creativity and wellbeing in our reader and writer communities.”
