The Charles Causley International Poetry Competition 2016 is to be judged by Sir Andrew Motion.
2016’s winners will be announced next year, in what would have been Charles’ 100th year, and will be included in the celebrations and publications which will mark this important moment.
First Prize is £2000 and the opportunity to stay at Causley’s former home in Launceston, Cyprus Well, during his centenary year for a week-long stay.
2nd prize is £250 and 3rd prize is £100.
Five highly commended poets whose work shows particular promise will be offered a mentoring development opportunity with one of the Charles Causley Trust’s Writers in Residence in 2017.
Entries will be shortlisted by an expert panel and the final decision will be made by Sir Andrew Motion.
Closing date for entries: Thursday 1st December 2016
