The International Agatha Christie Festival [IACF] invites aspiring young writers, aged between 8 and 18 years of age, to enter a new competition to find the most promising young writer of a mystery or crime short-story resident in the county of Devon.

It’s free to enter. There are two categories 8-13 years of age; 14-18 years of age.

It’s easy to enter. Write a short story of no more than 1,000 words involving a mystery and submit your entry online. Find out more about how to enter and terms and conditions here. The closing date to get your story to us is 10 August 2019.

The winner of each category will win an Apple iPad Mini ™and a chance to meet celebrity crime writers at the International Agatha Christie Festival in Torquay in September 2019. IACF is working in partnership with Literature Works and Libraries Unlimited to bring you the competition and to celebrate the results. Visit your local library for inspiration and support.
