Kate graduated from the Courtauld Institute of Art and KLC Design School. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and gained a MA in creative writing from the Manchester Writing School. Kate was a finalist in the ITV People’s Author contest, ‘The Perfume Garden’ was shortlisted for UK Romantic Novel of the Year and she was a regional winner in the BBC International Radio Playwriting Competition. In 2020 Kate was a finalist in the RNA’s Elizabeth Goudge Trophy.

Kate’s novels have been translated into many languages, and have been top ten bestsellers in the US/Canada, UK, Germany, Norway and Spain. Kate wrote the first book club column in the Middle East for two years, has taught workshops and masterclasses, and has written for publications including the Daily Telegraph, Good Housekeeping and Condé Nast Traveller on everything from writing and expat life, to Arab horses, perfume and Japanese festivals. Kate writes C20 historical fiction with heart.
