I generally write short stories or novella length stories. Primarily science fiction.
I have self-published, through Amazon but have withdrawn my works to improve them. I am rarely satisfied with a finished version.
I have written a Shakespearean play, but I don’t think it has a market, though I am working on another as I like the Rhyming prose format. I do tend towards a poetic style in some of my stories.
I belong to a local writer’s group which encourages me to write short stories away from my preferred subjects.
I have many longer stories at the nearly finished stage – I do find finishing a story hard. Beginning one is easy.
Though my stories are often dystopian or on the tragic side I do put humour in them, as even the darkest moments can be funny.
I like to put questions to the reader or leave a story with a question at the end. No story has a definitive end, life invariably goes on for some of the characters and it will be these who must leave the reader pondering.
I do not really engage in D&D fantasy (though of course I love Tolkien) Steam punk or that sort of fantasy.
I do like historical non-fiction/fiction.
